The Tanzania People and Wildlife Fund (TPW) is a Tanzanian non-profit working
to conserve wildlife, protect their natural habitats and to promote village development
through innovative strategies that emphasize coexistence with the natural world. The
main objective of its Maasailand Lion Conservation Program is to prevent conflicts
between people and lions in the Maasai Steppe of Tanzania.
Responsibilities of the Maasailand Lion Conservation Program Officer:
‐ Oversight, coordination and management of the installation of Living Walls,
lion-resistant livestock enclosures that use chain link fencing and live trees as
fence posts to keep cattle, goats and sheep safe from lions at night
