Program Advisor

Duration : 2 years

Together with our partners in 12 countries in Africa, Asia and America, Trias wants to create favourable conditions for local economic development and for sustainable livelihood for small scale farmers and entrepreneurs. Trias also wants to stimulate exchange and cooperation between farmers and entrepreneurs and their organizations world-wide.
In Tanzania, Trias has 12 partners implementing programs in Babati, Longido, Monduli and Mufindi districts.

For its program in Mufindi District: "Support for the Initiatives of Rural Communities to Improve Food Security", Trias is looking for an experienced Program Advisor to work with its partners Incomet, which provides technical support to the communities, and MuCoBa a rural microfinance bank.

The Trias Program Advisor will contribute to the realization of the food security program by fulfilling the following tasks & responsibilities:

1. The set-up and implementation of a good monitoring and evaluation system related to the Trias food security program.
2. Assure that high quality plans and reports are timely submitted according to Trias and donor requirements.
3. Advise the partners on budgeting and financial reporting.
4. Advice the partners on how to improve the food security of the target population.
5. Contribute to resource mobilization and fundraising of Trias and the partners.
6. Literature review and systemizing lessons learned especially related to food security.
7. Develop a network related to food and livelihood security and rural development in general.
8. Participate actively in the multidisciplinary approach of TRIAS.

Job requirements:
1. A university degree in the social sciences, economics, or agriculture.
2. Good practical experience with the set-up and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems is a must for this position.
3. A minimum of 5 years work experience with international NGOs in programs to improve the food and/or livelihood security of rural communities.
4. Be analytic, listening, solution seeking and flexible.
5. Pro-active and dynamic.
6. Good coordination, organization, planning, facilitation and advisory skills.
7. Excellent report writing skills.
8. Able to work independently without direct supervision with deadlines.
9. Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
10. Good practical skills on standard computer programs: Word, Excel, etc.
