The Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG) is a non-governmental organisation promoting the conservation of high biodiversity forests in Tanzania. TFCG operates a participatory forest management programme in the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania. This includes a project in the Rubeho Mountains (Mpwapwa District). TFCG is looking for a dynamic and experienced person for immediate deployment to lead a project in the Rubeho Mountains. Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in forestry, natural resource management or other relevant discipline;
  • At least 3 years project management experience in the fields of participatory / community- natural resources management;
  • Experience of working with NGOs and local communities in natural resources management;
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines, a proven ability to produce high quality reports in project administration is essential;
  • The post holder must have a good understanding of conservation issues, excellent skills and be familiar with various computer software packages.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential and a good knowledge of the project added advantage.  
Duties The Project Manager will be responsible for the implementation of activities relating forest management, research, community development and environmental education. closely with a range of stakeholders including communities, local government and scientists. Duration The contract term will last for 12 months with a possibility to renew.
