Action Day for a Fair Climate Deal at CoP15

On the 12th hour on the 12th day of the 12th month, millions of people around the globe, from Canada to Australia, India to Brazil will unite again to push for a Real Deal at the Copenhagen Climate Conference. Led by Oxfam International in Dar es Salaam, ForumCC (www.tnrf.org/groups/climatechange) -- the Tanzania Civil Society Forum on Climate Change -- will coordinate the Real Deal Action Day in Tanzania. Join groups and individuals of all kinds -- NGOs, faith groups, student organizations, businesses, civic and national leaders -- in a highly visual, and global crescendo event.

They will demand that world leaders muster the moral leadership, sense of responsibility and political will needed to secure a fair, ambitious and binding climate deal. They will demand solutions in line with the latest science and proportionate to the crisis at hand. They will demand urgent action without undue, costly and detrimental delay. They will pressure world leaders to bring us as close as possible to a Real Deal in Copenhagen, and will continue to build pressure on them until they reach it.

The Tck Tck Tck campaign's call for a fair, ambitious and binding climate deal in Copenhagen is building into a powerful cacophony. On 21 September, partner organization, Avaaz led citizens around the globe in sending a wake-up call to their leaders in 134 countries at over 2,600 events. On 24 October, that call grew louder, broader and deeper as 350.org inspired people at more than 5,000 actions in 181 countries to demand a deal ambitious enough to prevent climate catastrophe. Building on the Global Wake Up Call and the 350.org International Day of Climate Action, this dynamic, growing and united movement will come together in an unprecedented global day of action on 12 December with a clear and simple message: The World Wants a Real Deal.
