Public discussion on the biofuels industry at Policy Forum

The Policy Forum will host a public "Breakfast Debate" in collaboration with TNRF on the opportunities and threats from the biofuels industry in Tanzania on 29th May at 7.30am-9.00am. Speakers from government and civil society will discuss their perspectives on the impact of the emerging biofuels industry on rural livelihoods, land rights and national economic growth.

Tanzania Forestry Working Group Meeting

A regular meeting of the partners of the Tanzania Forestry Working Group. The main agenda topic is the planning of the implementation of the Mama Misitu campaign for illegal logging. All working group members are kindly asked to confirm their participation by Wednesday, 6th May.

Introductory visit for the "Social learning for Adaptive Tourism Management" project

Ujamaa Community Resource Trust, Honeyguide Foundation, TAS Consult and TNRF's Programme Officer for Wildlife Governance will introduce their new joint project called, "Social learning for Adaptive Tourism Management" to communities in Loliondo.

Pastoral Livelihoods Task Force Meeting with the Pastoralist Parliamentary Group

Led by the Kimmage-IIED Pastoralism Project and PINGOs Forum and with support from VetAid Tanzania, the Pastoral Livelihoods Task Force will host a meeting with the Pastoralist Parliamentary Group to discuss current issues affecting pastoralists and to come up with short and long term strategies.

The meeting is part of the PLTF's strategy to improve pastoralist livelihoods through policy advocacy and close engagement with policy makers. The PPG is a coalition of Members of Parliament who represent constituencies with high populations of pastoralists.
