Drafting by-laws for good governance of lands and natural resources and support community members in failed investment (Bioshape) took place between 31st July to 10th August 2018.

Drafting by-laws was done by empowering community to establish good governance over their land and natural resources. The process of drafting and adopting community rules for local land and natural resources management results in good governance and increase down top accountability of leaders; Stronger rights for women, youth and members of minority groups; Improved conservation, use and management of natural resources; Alignment of community rules with national law; Stronger foundations that support future community prosperity.

The team from the Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF) and International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) visited four villages (Mavuji, Migeregere, Nainokwe and Liwiti) affected by Failed investment company (Bioshape), and discuss on progress after District Multistakeholders Forum conducted by National Engagement Strategy in November, 2017. Villagers need back their land after investment has failed and no benefits accrued as promised during land acquisition in 2006.   Mavuji village also was supported to develop by-laws for land and natural resource governance along the visit.
