PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To collaborate, coordinate, facilitate, and lead policy harmonization through strategic engagement with policy influence working groups, sector ministries, and Parliamentary committees in strengthening Tanzania’s policy, regulatory, and enabling environment for sustainable biodiversity conservation.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

TNRF has been identified as a recipient of the USAID Tuhifadhi Maliasili grant with a project to strengthen conservation policies and biodiversity conservation in Tanzania. Through the grant, TNRF will employ experiences, innovations, and proven best practices to inform and support Tanzanian policy and legal framework review while at the same time promoting community and stakeholders’ participation and initiatives in biodiversity conservation and livelihoods.TNRF in this project will support addressing conflicting policies and legal frameworks and supporting efforts towards improved biodiversity conservation through multiple approaches.

 In view of this, TNRF seeks to recruit a project manager with a thorough understanding of policy issues in natural resources management including the wildlife sector and landscape connectivity in Tanzania to manage the implementation of the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of all project activities.
