WORLD WILDLIFE DAY

Today, 3rd March 2020 Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF), Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism and its agencies, together with other wildlife practitioners are commemorating the world wildlife day at the College of African Wildlife Management Mweka (CAWM), Moshi-Kilimanjaro.

On 20 December 2013, at its 68th session, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 3rd March, the day of signature of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) in 1973 as UN World Wildlife Day to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants.

WILDLIFE WORKING GROUP MEETING

9TH NOVEMBER 2018

Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF) through the project called “Engaging Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Communities, and the Private Sector in advocacy and piloting implementation of the Wildlife Corridor Regulations” will facilitate a national Wildlife Working Group stakeholders meeting at Wanyama Hotel, in Dar es salaam.

The meeting will focus on;

  1. Discussing challenges exist in the wildlife conservation legal framework
  2. Recommend long term strategy that will help in conservation of wildlife and
  3. Revamping action plans for effective facilitation of Wildlife Working Group (WWG) proposed activities in Tanzania.

More than 22 conservation organizations and other stakeholders ranging from the government institutions, bilateral organization, international, non-governmental organizations, universities, and CSOs will be present.

It is expected that; the meeting will come up with recommendations about the future of wildlife conservation in Tanzania and strategize on the operations of the wildlife working group.

“Pastoralists’ rights advancement: shared learning and dissemination of lessons and best practices”
