Longido district has a total area of 6392.35 km of which over 80% is  grazing land; it is a semi-arid with majority of the inhabitants are livestock keepers. Grazing resources has been a key challenge to livestock production systems and even wildlife for sustainable livelihoods.

The 7^th Anniversary of Tanzania Human Rights Defenders was held on 2^nd July 2021 at the Mlimani City – Dar es Salaam.  The theme for this year was “Chatting out the role of Civil Society sector in the implementation of the five years National Development Plan (2021/2022-2025/2026)”

The guest of honor, Professor Palamagamba John Kabudi, the Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, represented the Prime Minister Hon. Kassim Majaliwa.  In his speech, Prof. Kabudi urged organizations to be think tanks to improve laws and policy frameworks in Tanzania.
