TNRF and UCRT work together to develop 'Community Forums' in Arusha Region

Over the last three months, TNRF and Ujamaa Community Resource Trust (UCRT) have been working to launch community forums in Ngorongoro, Simanjiro and Longido Districts as an opportunity for rural villagers to begin to discuss key natural resource management issues. It is anticipated that, after appropriate training and further development, the community forums will come together to agree on priority natural resource management issues that they would like to take up with the government and the Parliament.

Community-based Tourism Info-Fair, 2007

A special two afternoon info-fair on Community-based Tourism was held on Wednesday and Thursday, 6th - 7th June 2007 at the New Arusha Hotel in partnership with the Karibu Trade Fair. Chaired by Mr Richard Rugimbana (Executive Secretary of the Tourism Confederation of Tanzania), the info-fair provided concise topical seminars, with plenty of opportunity for discussion. There were summary hand-outs and additional take-away information.

TNRF together with CRC and the Karibu Tourism Trade Fair held a successful two-afternoon Community-based Tourism Info-Fair on June 6th and 7th to raise awareness about socially and environmentally responsible tourism and why CBT will become a fast growing part of Tanzania's tourism industry.
