The East African Wild Life Society (EAWLS) is a membership organization that was founded in 1961 when the Wildlife Societies of Tanzania and Kenya – both founded in 1956 – together with Ugandan wildlife enthusiasts joined hands. EAWLS has been at the forefront in the efforts for protecting endangered, rare or threatened species and habitats in East Africa.

The Accountability in Tanzania (AcT) Programme is now accepting Ideas for Change that are related to Climate Change & Environment Initiatives only. This fund was launched on 1 December 2011 and is being supported by DANIDA and UKAid through the Department for International Development (DFID). Organizations need to submit a one page concept note detailing their Idea for Change. The fund targets organizations that work at scale and have a minimum budget requirement of GBP 100,000.
