PROJECT : Sustainable Management of Chome Nature Reserve in Same District.

Introduction
The project is located in the Same District, the southernmost and largest of the six districts of the Kilimanjaro Region. The 90% of its population, 235,440 people living in 91 villages (2009), lives in rural areas and the best income sources are agricultural and livestock.

“The Association of Iringa Tomato and Vegetable Growers Company Ltd” was established in 2011 and the Head Office is located in Iringa Municipal. The cooperative was established for the purpose of supporting their members to access inputs, markets for tomato and vegetable and finance.  AITVG has 68 group members serving a total of 3,400 members. AITVG operates in Iringa District in Iringa region.AITVG has been granted by LWR to implement the NyanyaniPesaProject that benefit a total of 3,400 members of 68 farmers groups from 23 villages in Iringa District.
