Our mission

By bringing together local knowledge, policy perspectives, and science, we work to understand the tradeoffs among conservation and development goals, and to identify and develop innovative policies and practices that work for both people and nature.

Who we are

The ACCCA project draws on lessons learned about communicating climate risk information in clear terms that are relevant to decision-makers; addressing climate risks and adaptation in an integrated, multidisciplinary way; the importance of engaging stakeholders substantively; and the long-term benefits of partnering institutions from scientific and policy communities for understanding and managing climate change risks.

The Rights and Resources Initiative is a coalition of international, regional and community organizations engaged in conservation, research and development. Together, we work to encourage greater global action on forest policy and market reforms to increase household and community ownership, control and benefits from forests and trees. Learn more...

Avoided Deforestation Partners is an international network of thinkers and strategists, founded by leaders in carbon policy, finance, forestry, and conservation in May 2007 to support international efforts to halt tropical deforestation. We promote the adoption of a policy framework that creates robust and efficient mechanisms that motivate investments to avoid further deforestation. Avoided Deforestation Partners establishes a platform for research and debate.
