Carbon Program Manager

Ecosystem Marketplace is seeking a Forest Carbon Program Manager. Ecosystem Marketplace, a project of the non-profit Forest Trends, is a comprehensive source of information and analysis on payment for ecosystem services and environmental markets. Roles and Responsibilities:

The Program Manager will support and expand the Ecosystem Marketplace Carbon Program's range of activities, as well as coordinate international conferences with Ecosystem Marketplace's sister organization, The Katoomba Group.  Manage Ecosystem Marketplace's Forest Carbon program, overseeing a Program Associate, consultants and interns Manage, build and promote Ecosystem Marketplace's online Forest Carbon Portal website (www.forestcarbonportal.com) and Project Inventory Co- author our first annual State of the Forest Carbon Markets report. Represent Ecosystem Marketplace at relevant conferences and contribute to our international capacity building workshops Serve as a source of expertise on forest carbon for Ecosystem Marketplace and Katoomba Group stakeholders Guide the growth and development of and directly contribute to Ecosystem Marketplace's research, articles, and reports on the carbon markets Craft strategy and design the stream of REDD events to be carried out by the Katoomba Group network globally Work as a part of a team to raise funds for program activities Write feature articles for the Ecosystem Marketplace website and assist in commissioning journalists to write other articles

Qualifications: We're seeking candidates with: Strong expertise in the carbon markets and forest carbon A graduate degree or equivalent experience Excellent analytical, writing, information management and research skills A strong interest in internet based outreach and ability to organize and clearly communicate information The ability to work independently and with a team Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Web-design, Spanish or French, and statistics skills a plus Willingness to travel 15-20% of time
