Key responsibilities:
- Prepare media strategies and material for support to TNRF’s programs
- Support and assist the Head of Communications in public relations for TNRF in general, as well as the Working Groups, projects, and special projects
- Establish and maintain strong relations with the national and international media as part of improving its performance and the availability of information on governance and environmental and social justice issues
- Carry a out mapping and survey exercise of the national media sector
- Coordinate external communications including dealing with the press and any press releases
- Arrange for events and activities like press launches, news conferences, exhibitions, open days advertising and promotional films to be produced
- Help with development and updating of all promotion and communication material for external use such as website, brochures, newsletters
- Help review and edit all TNRF productions (documents, audio and visual) for content, design before publication or posting on web or media (TV, radio, print).
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor degree in communication, mass media, journalism or any other related field
- Experience with desk top publishing
- Proven capacity in providing PR support in advocacy and lobbying activities
- Two years experience in a similar position, managing PR for network organizations operating in the field of advocacy
- Experience with branding and promotion of organization’s overall vision, mission and strategies
- Experience with campaigns is an added advantage
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Desk Top Publishing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Kiswahili
