Within the framework of global conventions IUCN has helped over 75 countries to prepare and implement national conservation and biodiversity strategies

Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Regional Technical Coordinator, the Senior Programme Officer will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of Programme activities at Country and Regional level – with a specific focus on the thematic Programme area, Biodiversity, Economics and Business.

Competencies
• A Masters degree in conservation, environmental economics and/or business related fields
• Demonstrated ability to work across sectors, build alliances and set up public-private initiatives
• At least 8 years professional experience with result based project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation methodologies and principles and facilitation skills.
• Experience in participatory planning and natural resource management.
• Strong interpersonal, management and supervisory skills experience with at least 5 years of experience at the managerial level
• Ability to manage complex situations and facilitate multi-stakeholder participatory processes.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills in English and Computer literacy.
