Invitation to Meeting on Climate Change and REDD in Tanzania and East Africa

We are pleased to invite you to a Tanzanian Civil Society Forum on Climate Change (Forum CC) and Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG) organized meeting on:

Climate Change and REDD in Tanzania and East Africa

This will review the UNFCCC CoP15 (Copenhagen Meeting) and Discuss the implications and way forward.

Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 March 2010 * 09:30 - 17:30
Dar es Salaam International Conference Centre (DICC), Dar es Salaam

Day 1 will provide information and raise awareness among stakeholders in Tanzania about what happened at UN FCCC CoP15, including the key outcomes, government and civil society positions, progress to date, and future implications for Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya.

Day 2 of the meeting will provide a space for planning among Civil Society organizations on the way forward for action on climate change mitigation and adaptation, including REDD in the region. This will include discussions on the future activities of ForumCC in Tanzania.

Considering your interest and work on climate change issues, we have the honor to invite one or two representatives from your organization to attend the meeting.

Space at the meeting will be provided for you to display and share materials (publications, flyers, pictures, etc) from your organization's work on climate change, if you wish to do so.

Participants from outside Dar es Salaam will have their basic accommodation, food, and bus fare costs supported by the event organizers, provided that they contact us in advance to confirm their participation. We expect organizations based in Dar es Salaam who wish to attend to be able to cover the cost of transportation.
