MENTORSHIP AND SUPPORT TO WILDLIFE CRIME PROSECUTORS

Organization:
African Wildlife Foundation (AWF)’s
Deadline:
7 April 2017

Introduction

Poaching and associated trafficking of Africa’s iconic wildlife has escalated to levels that put to question the long-term survival of these species. African Wildlife Foundation (AWF)’s heightened response to the crisis comprises three key elements: stopping the killing, stop the trafficking and stop the demand. All three elements occur concurrently. AWF will work with key partners – government, private and community – to ensure the illicit killing and trafficking are abated in a timely manner.  AWF and INL are working together to enhance wildlife law enforcement efforts in Africa.  The purpose of wildlife trafficking law enforcement efforts is to stop potentially devastating threats to wildlife due to illegal activities.

With this call for proposals AWF and INL aim to support investigation and prosecution of wildlife crime in Tanzania and to ensure that the wildlife legislation is strong enough to deter wildlife crime.

How to Apply:

Proposals should be submitted electronically to Didi Wamukoya, Wildlife Law Enforcement Manager at DWamukoya@awf.org and copied to Dr Philip Muruthi, Vice President Species Conservation at PMuruthi@awf.org.
