NEW EXPERTS IN NATURAL RESOURCE SECTOR

Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF) is groming new experts in natural resource sector. In 2018 TNRF has trained 6 field attached students from University of Dodoma, Institute of Accountacy Arusha and University of Dar es salaam as strategy to increase  number of competent actors with practical skills on Natural Resource governance in Tanzania.

PUBLIC DEBATE AND LEGAL AID IN IRINGA

Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF) in collaboration with the Iringa rural District Council conducted a four days public debate and legal aid sessions on land governance in four villages of Pawaga division, Iringa rural district. The villages include: Itunundu, Kisanga, Isele and Mboliboli from 20th to 23th August, 2018. This activity aimed at enhancing community knowledge on land rights and facilitate access to justice.  This is a three year project on Land Governance and Accountability funded by Welthaus Graz and DKA  both  based in Austria and is being implemented in Iringa and Dodoma regions.

Drafting by-laws for good governance of lands and natural resources and support community members in failed investment (Bioshape) took place between 31st July to 10th August 2018.

   Drafting by-laws was done by empowering community to establish good governance over their land and natural resources. The process of drafting and adopting community rules for local land and natural resources management results in good governance and increase down top accountability of leaders; Stronger rights for women, youth and members of minority groups; Improved conservation, use and management of natural resources; Alignment of community rules with national law; Stronger foundations that support future community prosperity.

Ardhi Yetu Program (AYP II)  KICKOFF TRAINING ON CLIMATE CHANGE

Ardhi Yetu Programme (AYP II) through Care Tanzania in collaboration with Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF), CARE - WWF Alliance and Care Denmark organized a five days training (02th - 06th July 2018) on Climate change and adaptation concepts and practices. The training is taking place at Same District - Kilimanjaro Region with a major purpose of familiarising and capacitating CARE and core partners on tools that will support them to be able to design and facilitate effective climate vulnerability and capacity analysis and sustainable adaptation planning with targeted community organisations. Specifically, the training will cover;

Day 1: Awareness raising and understanding of climate change, its impacts in the Tanzania pastoralist

Day 2: Farming context, and climate resilience and adaptation concepts and approaches.

                          Day 3: Gender responsive Climate Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (G-CVCA)

                          Day 4: Participatory planning approach:community adaptation action planning (CAAP)

                          Day5: Training on how to design, develop and facilitate a detailed plan to train partners, local government staff and community groups and facilitate the assessment and planning
