AfriCarbon is a start-up business supported by a multi stakeholder group, including DEFRA, The Shell Foundation and a number of financial institutions, to develop Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in Sub-Saharan African countries with the explicit goal of increasing Africa’s share in the CDM, building local knowledge/capacity for the future and contributing to African development through sustainable economies.

AfriCarbon is currently looking for a CEO who will be based in Africa (most probably Nairobi), to launch and run its day-to-day operations.

The of Center for Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing of the National University of Rwanda (CGIS-NUR) serves as a national and regional training and research centre of excellence in the fields of Geographic Information  Systems and Remote Sensing. The CGIS-NUR has approximately 25 full time or affiliated academic staff and 8 administrative/technical staff members. Due to retirement of its director, NUR is advertising the position to be filled as of September 1, 2008 or as soon as possible. This research and training centre is supervised by the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, and its director operates on a faculty dean level.
