The African Conservation Foundation is working towards the protection and conservation of Africa's endangered wildlife and their habitats. Founded in 1999, ACF fills a unique niche by creating an Africa-wide network for information exchange and capacity building of conservation efforts in the region. ACF's mission is to support and link African conservation initiatives, groups and NGOs, with the aim of strengthening their capacity, building partnerships and promoting effective communication and co-ordination of conservation efforts.

AfDevInfo is a research facility and software house working at the interface between cutting edge data capture, processing and distribution technologies and pragmatic politico-economic research. Avoided Deforestation Partners is an international network of thinkers and strategists, founded by leaders in carbon policy, finance, forestry, and conservation in May 2007 to support international efforts to halt tropical deforestation. We promote the adoption of a policy framework that creates robust and efficient mechanisms that motivate investments to avoid further deforestation. Avoided Deforestation Partners establishes a platform for research and debate. By stimulating discussion, we seek to develop, facilitate and test policy solutions that endorse practical policy concepts that will trigger investments into projects that stop deforestation. Bees for Development is an independent organisation founded in 1993 by Dr Nicola Bradbear and Ms Helen Jackson. We are an information service working at the centre of an international network of people and organisations involved with apiculture in developing countries.

Beekeeping is an effective way for poor people to strengthen their livelihoods, and Bees for Development works to provide information to assist them.

The Communication Initiative (The CI) network is an online space for sharing the experiences of, and building bridges between, the people and organisations engaged in or supporting communication as a fundamental strategy for economic and social development and change. It does this through a process of initiating dialogue and debate and giving the network a stronger, more representative and informed voice with which to advance the use and improve the impact of communication for development. This process is supported by web-based resources of summarised information and several electronic publications, as well as online research, review, and discussion platforms providing insight into communication for development experiences.

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) is a global program that provides grants to nongovernmental organizations and other private sector partners to protect critical ecosystems.

The Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW) gives public interest lawyers and scientists the training and resources they need to help communities protect the environment through law.

These advocates, working in their home countries, know best how to protect the environment. By giving ELAW partners the legal and scientific support they need, ELAW helps challenge environmental abuses and builds a worldwide corps of skilled, committed advocates working to protect ecosystems and communities for generations to come.

FARM-Africa is an international non- governmental organisation that aims to reduce poverty in eastern and South Africa. We work in partnership with marginal farmers and herders, helping them to manage their natural resources more effectively and build sustainable livelihoods on their land. Whether improving small-scale dairy goat farming, working to resolve conflict with pastoral communities or developing new roles for villagers to manage forests, we know that with even a little assistance, African farmers can dramatically improve their own well-being.
