Student Project/Consultancy: Rapid Market Appraisal of Agroforestry
Student project: Analysis of market chain of commercialized biodiversity products in the East Usambara Mountains, Tanga
The Landscape Mosaics project is a 3-year research initiative of the CIFOR-ICRAF Biodiversity Platform to promote flexible and broadly applicable approaches for integrating livelihoods and biodiversity conservation in five tropical landscape mosaics. In the East Usambara Mountains of Tanzania the project is implemented by the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG) in collaboration with the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF). Within the framework of the initiative, TFCG seeks a student or recent graduate with the relevant academic orientation to carry out a market study on the priority products that have the potential to promote biodiversity conservation while providing income opportunities to the local population in the East Usambaras. The project is envisaged to be suitable to form part of a Masters study.
