Working groups

TNRF has developed 'Working Groups' to enable its members to work on and engage with key natural resource management issues in which they have a direct interest. TNRF facilitates the following 'Working Groups':
  • Wildlife
    (WWG)
    A new wildlife working group with a focus on human and wildlife conflict management
  • Community-based Tourism
    (CBT)
    Information on Community-based Tourism / Eco-tourism and related news and information resources
  • Forestry
    (F)
    Information on the Forestry Working Group, and related news and information resources
  • Pastoralism and Livelihoods
    (PL)
    Information on the Pastoralism and Livelihoods Task Force, and related news and information resources
  • Community Forums
    (CF)
    Information on the Community Forums and related news and information resources
  • Western Tanzania
    (WT)
    A list-serve for members working in western Tanzania and occasional related news and information resources
  • Tanzania Forest Working Group
    (TFWG)
    Forest governence implementation project approach for Mama Misitu camppaign
The development of 'Working Groups' ensures that TNRF's work is demand-driven by its members. TNRF's Secretariat facilitates and supports the 'Working Groups', developing their human and financial resources. However, the progress of each 'Working Group' is also dependent on the time and effort invested by 'Working Group' members. TNRF's Secretariat is able to provide some support - in terms of:
  • website space
  • email addresses
  • list-serves
  • meeting facilities and facilitation
  • information resources
  • networking and links
  • fundraising and programmatic development
