TRAFFIC, TNRF and WWF-Tz brief two key Parliamentary Committees on Illegal Logging in Tanzania

TNRF with TRAFFIC AND WWF-Tz briefed the Finance and Planning Parliamentary Committee and the Natural Resources and Environment Parliamentary Committee. Both committees were taken-aback with the far-reaching loss of forest revenues and deforestation documented in the report by TRAFFIC. It is likely that as a direct result of the briefings, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism budget submission to the Committees was rejected and sent back for adjustment, in order to address the estimated 96 per cent revenue loss from illegal logging and other revenue concerns.
