Project Officer - Sustainable Charcoal

The Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG) in partnership with the Community Forestry Network of Tanzania (MJUMITA) is implementing Phase 2 of the 'Transforming Tanzania's Charcoal Sector Project'. The project is financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. As part of this project TFCG is seeking applications from qualified women and men for the above position

Qualifications and Experience:

• BSc or higher degree in a subject related to natural resources management, forestry and / or agriculture.
• At least 3 years experience in working with rural communities, preferably in relation to participatory forest management, sustainable charcoal production or community development.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of field-based activities to build community capacity in relation to sustainable charcoal production, sustainable wood harvesting and forest-based enterprise development.
