Structure/Operations

TNRF is a membership-based organisation where membership is open and free to everyone acting in their roles as ordinary citizens or residents of Tanzania or as representatives of civil-society-based organisations - including NGOS, CBOs and private business.

TNRF is governed by a General Assembly of members who elect a Steering Committee which is responsible for providing leadership and oversight over a Secretariat which is responsible for managing the Forum's activities and programmes in close coordination with both the General Assembly and Secretariat.

TNRF holds regular bi-monthly 'barazas' in addition to working group meetings and special interest seminars for its members.

TNRF is undergoing a period of growth as we work to increase our cost-base and the capacity of our Secretariat to effectively support TNRF's members and their programmes of their working groups.

By the end of 2007, we envisage that we will have increased the size of our Secretriat from four to eight professional higher calibre staff, together with a commensurate increase in core support staff.
